VOTER ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to vote in this election, you MUST be a current SAME AND San Antonio Post member as shown on the current membership roster available at the Post website.

VOTING PROCEDURES:

In the ballot, you will be asked to select the candidate of your choice for each of the five (5) available positions. You can also choose to identify WRITE-IN candidate(s) for position(s). If you do so, select "WRITE-IN" for the position in the drop-down menu, then enter the name of the individual in the box where it says WRITE-IN candidate for that position.

Please be sure when entering any WRITE-IN candidate(s) that they are: (1) members of the Post; (2) interested in serving in the position; (3) and have the time to serve in the position.

The next section provides you with a summary of this year's candidates - scroll down the page to learn more about each of them.

You will also be voting to approve/disapprove the new Post Bylaws, which are required to reviewed/revised every 5 years. Information about the new Bylaws is in the section after the summary of candidates.

CANDIDATES:

For 2018 Vice President/2019 President-elect:

  • Scott Mikos: Scott is a Department of the Air Force Civilian with 19 years of service. He currently serves as Senior Civil Engineer at Air Education & Training Command and has also worked at the Air ForceIntelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Agency, Air Force Personnel Center and several other Air Force Civil Engineering assignments. Scott is a Post Leadership Lab Graduate and our current Relationships Director and has served as Engineering & Construction Camp Coordinator, Chair Architecture & Engineering Academy and as a Post Volunteer for numerous activities. He has also served on SAME’s STEM Committee and as Co-Chair for the Young Architect's Forum with the AIA San Antonio Chapter.

For 2018 Treasurer:

  • Sam Hutchins: Sam works for City of San Antonio and manages the Transportation and Capital Improvements project management software and schedulers. He has served as our Post Treasurer since 2004 and served as a Post Golf Committee volunteer helping make our Post Education & Mentoring Fund Golf Tournament a huge success each yearr.

For 2018 Secretary:

  • Marie Masbad: Marie works for FPM Remediations. She supports business development, helps oversee the progress of all proposal work and technical reports and provides management office support for hercompany. Marie also contributes to the design and production of marketing material and collation of information for promotional products. Marie is also a Post Leadership Lab Graduate and has served as Post Assistant Secretary and Post Secretary since 2015. She also is a volunteer on our Small Business, Golf Tournament and Holiday Celebration Committees and helps with check-in at our Post meetings.

For 2018-2019 Director of Leadership & Mentoring (LM):

  • Donald Gleason: Don works for Booz Allen Hamilton and has 35+ years of leadership experience in the military and private sector, leading personnel and organizations to Best in Air Force and Best in Company performance. He facilitates within his organization to develop the leadership capabilities of the staff, with the end goal to improve sales, revenue, communication, teamwork, goal achievement and job satisfaction. He has served in various Post leadership roles from Post Vice President starting new Posts to member of the Posts’ Readiness and Resilience, Awards and Scholarship Committees,

  • Michele Torres: Michele is President of the Health Facility Solutions Company where she leads a small business of 80 employees with $7M in annual revenue. She guides and implements the company strategic plan, develops marketing approaches; oversees contract management and ensures regulatory compliance. She serves on the Post Scholarship and Small Business Committees and is a Mentor for the 2017 UTSA Post college scholarship winner. She also has served in Junior League of San Antonio leadership positions and as a Project Management Institute Mentor.

For 2018-2019 Director of Relationships (REL):

  • Michael Geer: Mike works for CDM Smith and is their Air Force Client Service Leader. Mike has served on several SAME National Committees and has been a Post President twice of other Posts. He also has been a SAME Conference speaker in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.

POST BYLAWS:

The new 2017 Post Bylaws were approved by the Post Board on Sep 26, 2017 to replace the current 2012 Post Bylaws. The new 2017 Bylaws are available HERE for your review with changes between the current and new proposed Bylaws highlighted in red text. The new proposed Bylaws require approval by the general membership before they are finalized.
